Steve Hohensee

 

 

 

Many of you may remember Steve from his yearly attendance at the UBI banquets in the mid and late ‘90’s when he lived in St. Louis. Like most UBI members, Steve developed an extreme passion for bowhunting. He grew up in a small town in Nebraska and started harassing the local rabbits, squirrels, pigeons, and carp when he was about ten years old and his bowhunting passion went out of control from there. He has lived in Nebraska, Missouri, Wyoming, and Alaska and bowhunted in many US states, Canadian provinces/territories, and also a few foreign countries. Steve is a strong supporter of the Professional Bowhunters Society (PBS) and leads their website committee.  

 

Fifteen years ago, Steve made his first bowhunting trip to Alaska prior to the yearly mid-west whitetail seasons. His world changed quickly when he happed to make a contact on a flight while on a black bear hunting trip which led him to a new career and a relocation to the Last Frontier.  He rarely has the opportunity to hunt whitetails these days but has had many opportunities to hunt remote and lonely corners all across Alaska for many different species, often hunting solo.

 

 

Steve looks forward to sharing his many Alaskan adventures including the thrill of success and the agony of defeat, with us on March 3rd including both a day seminar and the evening keynote speech.
